Finding Our Footing: From the Netherlands to the Rose City

It’s good to be home.

After our whirlwind trip to the Netherlands, coming back to Portland has felt like a long, slow exhale. If you’ve ever had one of those seasons where everything happens at once, where the learning curve feels more like a vertical climb, you know exactly where our heads have been.

The Netherlands was a beautiful blur of prototyping and technical questions. It was our first time really deep diving into the manufacturing side of things, and honestly? It was a lot. There wasn't one single "aha!" moment, but rather a thousand small realisations about what it takes to bring a vision to life.

The Power of a Quiet Guide

For the last three months, we’ve been lucky enough to work with a mentor who has become our steady ground. As a seasoned expert in the industry, she’s been helping us navigate the complex world of textiles and threads.

But more than the technical advice, she gave us something we didn't know we needed: validation. She reminded us that the "running in place" feeling we’ve been having? That’s normal. Hearing from someone who has seen it all that we are exactly where we’re supposed to be has given us a new kind of calm confidence. We’re not just building a product; we’re learning a craft.

Testing in the Wild (Portland Edition)

Since being back, we’ve been spending our days doing some "intentional reflecting" at our favorite local spots. You might have seen us catching our breath at Haven Coffee Co. or Sisters Coffee, or winding down at the Battle Creek tasting room.

We’ve also been spending a lot of time at Portland Thorns games. There’s something so inspiring about watching activewear in motion on the pitch, seeing how fabric moves, breathes, and supports in real time. It’s the ultimate inspiration for what we’re dreaming up next.

Looking Toward 2027: More Than Just Bras

While our heart started with the perfect sports bra, our vision has grown. We want sunday+ to be a community led lifestyle brand that supports every part of your day. We’re currently in the very early stages of imagining:

  • High-waisted yoga pants that actually stay put.

  • Versatile 4" and 6" shorts.

  • Cropped performance tees and long-sleeve layering tops for those chilly Oregon mornings.

The Dream on Wheels

And finally, we’ve been talking a lot about how we want to meet you. Not just through an Instagram comment or an email, but in person.

We’re starting to plan a Van Life tour for 2027. The idea is simple: we want to travel, see the beauty of the country, and most importantly, sit down and talk with our community. We want to be a deep part of the plus community, listening to your stories and building this brand with you, face to face.

It feels like a lot because it is a lot. But we’re so glad to be doing it with you.

We’d love to know: If we took the sunday+ van on the road, what city should be our very first stop?
