Finding Our Rhythm in the Rose City: Panel Nerves, Premium Fabrics, and Portland Fire
If we’re being honest, this past week was a bit of a whirlwind for us at sunday+. Between stepping onto new local stages and cheering from the stands, it felt like a beautiful, grounding reminder of why we love building this lifestyle brand right here in Portland.
Finding Our Ground on the Main Stage
Last week was startup week, and it brought some major moments of growth. Alex was invited to sit on her very first panel, sharing our journey as new founders navigating the early stages of building a business. To be completely transparent with you guys, the nerves were incredibly real. Walking onto that stage felt intimidating, but after answering a few questions, the anxiety cleared out and turned into genuine excitement.
Meeting so many amazing folks doing incredible things across the Pacific Northwest was the exact battery recharge we needed. It reminded us how passionate and supportive this community truly is. Seeing everyone else putting in the work also gave us a healthy dose of inspiration, a gentle reminder to keep stepping up our game as we learn this craft.
Designing for Buttery Softness and Real Support
On the product side, we’ve been deeply intentional this week about the materials shaping our future gear. There has been so much incredible advancement in the field of textile technology recently, and we are completely obsessed with exploring what's possible.
Right now, we are focusing on fabrics that can deliver the ultimate balance: the premium, high impact support our community deserves, paired with the buttery softness you want to live in all day. We aren't rushing this phase. We know that true comfort takes time, and we're committed to getting the details right.
From the Stands to the Pitch: Rooting for the Home Team
When we weren’t talking shop or researching fabric tensions, we leaned into one of our absolute favorite Portland rituals, getting out and experiencing local sports. As proud new season ticket holders for the Portland Fire, we finally got to see our first few games!
Wow, what an electric atmosphere. Watching Barker land those last few points to secure the win was completely wild, and it made us lifelong fans on the spot.
Seeing that level of movement and dedication inspires what we’re dreaming up next. One day, our dream is for sunday+ to directly support incredible athletes like the Portland Fire, the Thorns, and the Cherry Bombs. We can't wait to collaborate face to face with local athletes to craft a truly supportive sports bra that can be worn with total confidence, whether you're on the pitch or navigating your own everyday movement.
