Finding the Beauty in the "In-Between"

If we’re being honest, this week was a bit of a quiet one for us at sunday+.

After the whirlwind of flying back from our prototyping trip in the Netherlands, catching our breath back home in Portland, and mapping out our big dreams for 2027, the last few days have felt surprisingly still. No major design breakthroughs, no chaotic midnight sessions wrestling with our new Singer sewing machine, and no massive milestones to announce.

Just the steady, invisible work of keeping the wheels turning.

The Reality of the Slow Down

When you’re building a lifestyle brand from the ground up, there’s an unspoken pressure to always have big news. It feels like every single week needs to be filled with breakthrough moments, fresh fabric swatches, or major updates.

But this week reminded us that the quiet phases are just as intentional as the loud ones.

We’ve been using this slower pace to step back and do some intentional reflecting. We’ve spent our mornings sitting down at Haven Coffee Co. and Sisters Coffee, organizing the technical feedback we’ve gathered so far, and reviewing the notes from our mentor who has been such a steady ground for us. It turns out that when you aren't sprinting through airports or rushing to meet a lab deadline, you finally have the head space to look at the smallest details.

Building Trust in the Quiet Spaces

If we are being completely transparent, a little bit of doubt likes to creep back in when the pace changes. We catch ourselves wondering if we're moving fast enough. But we are learning to find our calm confidence in the stillness.

"We don’t rush this. Comfort takes time, and you deserve the best."

Designing a sports bra that treats real bodies with care means honoring the slow days just as much as the busy ones. The "in-between" weeks aren't a sign of running in place, they are where the foundation gets poured, where we obsess over the stitch tensions, and where we make sure we are building something that truly lasts.

We are keeping our eyes on the horizon, but we are incredibly grateful for the chance to catch our breath right here in the Pacific Northwest this week.

This slower season has taught us that taking a pause is just as important as taking a stride. We are so glad to have you walking this journey with us, through the wild sprints and the quiet stretches alike.

We’d love to know: When your week feels a bit slow or "weird," what is your favorite way to press pause and find the beauty in your own in-between moments?
