A big day for the Plus: Learning, Connecting, and Dreaming Bigger

Today was one of those days that reminds me exactly why we’re building sunday+.

I spent the morning at the Functional Fabric Fair, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But the moment I walked in, I was pulled straight into a main stage expert chat that completely set the tone. Hearing leaders in the field talk so openly about innovation, performance, and the future of functional textiles felt like being handed a roadmap we didn’t know we needed. I met a handful of incredible people right away, each helping me answer those early, and sometimes intimidating, questions about where to begin.

One of the highlights was the Innovation Hub, where 12 emerging technologies were showcased. The one that stopped me in my tracks came from Reheon Labs LTD: straps made with a high strain-rate sensitive super-polymer that stays soft and flexible… until it's stretched quickly, where it instantly stiffens. Exactly the kind of “smart” material thinking that gets us excited about what’s possible. It feels like a perfect fit for our R&D explorations, and we can’t wait to test it out.

After a few hours of talks, wandering, and absorbing everything I could, I walked over to Kinship for a meet up with the Kinship community. It was such a gift to connect with so many people designing at the edges of fashion and function. A quick half hour of conversation there was enough to remind me how supportive and passionate this community truly is.

Then it was a sprint back to the fair, because I had the chance to meet with the Sports Bra Doctor herself. We spent nearly an hour talking through our vision for sunday+, and she shared insights that honestly felt like months of learning packed into one conversation. We walked the fair together afterward, and she was incredibly warm, welcoming, and generous. She introduced me to so many key people in the sports bra world. Connections that will shape our next steps in a big way.

By the time I wrapped up a few more expert panels and stepped back outside, it hit me just how impactful this day was. I learned more than I expected, met people who genuinely want to help, and walked away with clarity on how to move forward.

sunday+ is still at the very beginning of its story but today made the path ahead feel a whole lot brighter.
